BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Prof. Sandeep Chaudhary is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Indore. He is also the Head of the Centre for Rural Development and Technology, Indian Institute of Technology Indore. Before joining Indian Institute of Technology Indore, he served as a faculty member in different capacities at Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur. In 26 years of his professional career, Prof. Chaudhary has served as an academician, a researcher and an industry expert in the domain of sustainable construction practices including upcycling of wastes, development of building materials and their assessment, and structural analysis and design. His group carries out both analytical and experimental studies, ranging from microstructural behaviour of materials to the application and performance of sustainable building products. His research has been published in 88 journal articles, 53 conferences and several books and book chapters. His work on sustainable construction materials and products has resulted in two patents (granted) and the first technology transfer of Indian Institute of Technology Indore. As a result of his research contributions, he has been recognized as the leading scientist of the world in the field of sustainable construction materials (number one scientist as per the web of science core collection database listed on Publons). Prof. Chaudhary has also been engaged in multidisciplinary and international collaborative researches towards developing global sustainable solutions. He has been the principal investigator of multiple funded research projects carried out jointly with universities from France, United Kingdom, Tunisia, China, Hong Kong and Thailand. In recognition of his contributions, Prof. Chaudhary has been given the honour of serving on various prestigious committees at the National and International levels like Bureau of Indian Standards (India) and Asian Concrete Federation.
